This Republic Day Modi’s government honored the “Art of Living Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar” with prestigious Padma Vibhushan award. The Padma Vibhushan has also been conferred upon Dhirubhai Ambani and seeks to recognize exceptional work achievements in various fields.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was among the 10 Padma Vibhushan awardees whose names Modi’s government announced on this 67th Republic Day and yes, he truly deserved it!
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar hails from Papanasam, Tamil Nadu and was born on 13 May 1956. He is commonly referred as “Sri Sri” or as “Guruji” or “Gurudev”.
In 1981, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founded The Art of Living, a non-governmental organization whose vision is to have violence free society where people live stress-free. His services ins humanity is remarkable where he has united millions of people around the world with his courses of The Art of Living.
He’s a figure of peace and has been honored with many awarded including renowned civilian awards of Colombia, Mongolia and Paraguay. When we talk about Gurudev, we see him as humanitarian leader, spiritual teacher and ambassador of peace attempting to make a world better place to live.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, “The Art of Living” functions in 152 countries with a mission to relieve individual’s stress, societal problems and violence. For his accomplishment in building an idea for the same he has been conferred with 15 honorary doctorates round the world. Isn’t that honor for our country!

Modi has intended to use India’s spiritual wealth as a powerful diplomatic tool. With this intend Modi has brought United Nations to declare June 21 as International Yoga Day.
The World Culture festival “Art of Living” is up in the corner in New Delhi from 11th to 13th March, 2016 that will bring together more than 3.5 million people from 150 countries and will celebrate the diversity while holding the harmony in all traditions and religion and all leading to perceive oneness in world.
The upcoming event will focus in spreading the message to the world that it’s a family and how should we inculcate the harmony in world by keeping in mind the diversity from culture to religion to traditions.
